Fans of “American Horror Story” still have a hefty wait for the Season 4 premiere, but actress Sarah Paulson is making the hiatus a little easier by teasing the upcoming season: “Freak Show.”

Paulson, who played Supreme witch Cordelia in Season 4’s “Coven,” spoke with E! Online about the highly anticipated new season. While she didn’t reveal any juicy spoilers about her character, she did reveal what the tone will be – and we’re dying from excitement.

According to the actress, tone-wise fans can look forward to a “kind of beautiful hybrid between ‘Coven’ and ‘Asylum.’” The show will pull the humor from “Coven” and mix it with the darker tone that “Asylum” provided. But that’s not all. After reading the first script for Season 4, Sarah Paulson said that the two words she has to describe “American Horror Story: Freak Show” so far is – “holy s***.”

“I feel like that’s the appropriate reaction you want when you read the first script of ‘American horror Story,’” she told the site. “So it’s very exciting and nerve-wracking in the best way you think, ‘How the hell am I going to pull this off?!’ And as an actor, I think that’s an exciting thing to feel.”

Paulson will be joining fellow “AHS” alums Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Evan peters, Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett and Emma Roberts. Lange is set to play a German ex-pat who “manages one of the last freak shows in the U.S.,” O’Hare will play opposite Lange as a “collector of freaks.”

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” will air on FX this October. Who do you think Sarah Paulson will play in the new season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section or send a tweet to @AmandaTVScoop.
