“American Horror Story: Coven” is quickly coming to a close which means that viewers must start searching for clues to season 4 – because they’ve been hidden in episodes 10 and 11!

News broke earlier this week at TCA 2014 that season 4 of “American Horror Story” would be a “period piece.” Now we know a little bit more about what period the series plans on going to – the 1950s. “American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed to Entertainment Weekly that his anthology series will go back in time once again and explore ideas that the show hasn’t touched on before.

“If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year,” Murphy explained. “It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited.”

Murphy’s reference to Lange using a German accent seems to tease his previous reveal bout the actress playing a “Marlene Dietrich figure.” For those unfamiliar with Dietrich, she was a legendary German actress/ singer whose career took off in 1929 when she landed the role of Lola-Lola, a cabaret singer in “The Blue Angel.” After World War II she spent a majority if her career as a high paid cabaret artist and performed throughout the country.

The FX mini-series has a history of dropping clues about the following season. In the L.A. Murder House of season 1, the clue about “Asylum” was revealed by Sarah Paulson’s character Billie Dean. The following season “Asylum” scattered some clues about witchcraft by playing the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins song, “I Put A Spell On You.”

When Entertainment Weekly asked whether Murphy started putting season 4 teasers in episode 11, the co-creator dished: “Yes. There has been in the last episode actually, looking back at it. The Easter eggs are there.”
