Drop everything that you are doing! “American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy is dishing out scoop on the fourth installment of the hit FX mini-series.

While spoilers on Season 4, “Freak Show,” have been scarce, Murphy spoke with Entertainment Weekly and revealed some juicy spoilers that will definitely leave fans freaking out. So, what did he say? You’re going to want to start sleeping with a night light, because the fourth season is going to be “terrifyingly dark.”

“I just love it. It feels really right,” Ryan Murphy said of the “Freak Show” theme. “I thought it was going to be light but it’s turning out to be quite terrifyingly dark, which it feels much more like the ‘Asylum’ season.”

Spooky! “American Horror Story” fans will remember that the second season, “Asylum,” was way more chilling than the Season 1 murder house. Introducing a serial killer named “Bloody Face” and exploring the hidden horrors of a mental institution, viewers were often left shielding their eyes in fear. And while Season 3’s “Coven” was definitely scary, the jokes and sassy conversations made it much lighter -- I mean come on, Frances Conroy’s character used a melon baller to scoop out the eyes of her enemies.

But what will make “Freak Show” so dark? It has something to do with the new characters being introduced in Season 4.

“If you have a character named the Clown Killer, it’s going to be dark,” Murphy continued to tease.

And if you had any doubts that the “Clown Killer” would be a scary clown, the series co-creator confirmed that it will be “the most terrifying clown ever.”

As for the question that everyone has been dying to know -- Will “Freak Show” feature a bearded lady?

EW got Murphy to reveal that the series will have their own “version of it.”

“American Horror Story” will return for its fourth season in the fall of 2014.
