As if we weren’t already excited for Season 5 of the haunting FX series “American Horror Story” to return to the small screen this fall, a recent report has us singing at the top of our lungs. It has been revealed that a “Glee” alum might be checking in to the blood-stained “Hotel.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Darren Criss, who portrayed the beloved role of Blaine in the long-running musical dramedy, is in talks to reunite with showrunner Ryan Murphy and join the chilling cast of “AHS” during the show’s spooky Halloween episode. But it looks like the Broadway hunk, who recently finished his stint starring in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” will receive more tricks than treats in the unnerving installment.
E! Online revealed that Criss is said to be taking on the recurring character Justin, a hipster from Silver Lake, who retreats to the eerie hotel on Oct. 31 with his “equally as hip” girlfriend as the two attempt to escape troublesome kids looking for candy. But Justin and his too-cool-for-school beau will bump into something even more terrifying than trick-or-treaters hopped up on sugar when they meet Kathy Bates devious character, Iris, who happens to run the hotel they’re staying in.
But Criss wasn’t the only crooner to be cast in Season 5 of “AHS,” which is slated to air its premiere in October. Grammy award-winning artist Lady Gaga will also be making her debut in the skin-crawling series. However, according to Murphy, the mother of monsters won’t be belting out any tunes in the upcoming installment.
During the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, the executive producer revealed that Lady Gaga would only be acting. “She likes to do one thing at one time,” he explained, warning viewers that they shouldn’t expect the "Born This Way" performer to sing.
