“American Horror Story” viewers beware! Season 5, “Hotel,” is already prepping for its first murder. The FX miniseries has just cast a new character – a Los Angeles police homicide detective.

Deadline reports that actor Richard T. Jones is joining the series in an eight-episode arc. The 43 year old, known for his recent work on “Hot Pursuit” and “Godzilla,” will play Detective Hahn. Further details about the role have not been released, however some are speculating about a possible connection to Sarah Paulson’s character, Hypodermic Sally.

“American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Paulson, who has been with the series since Season 1, will finally die in the upcoming installment. Fans know that the show has no problem killing off its characters, however, Paulson’s characters have made it out alive every season so far. That will all change with Paulson’s “bad girl” role in “Hotel.” Perhaps Detective Hahn will be investigating the death of Hypodermic Sally?

Richard T. Jones is not the only new face checking into Season 5. Other fresh faces this year include Lady Gaga, Max Greenfield and Cheyenne Jackson. They will join “American Horror Story” vets Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Denis O’Hare, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Chlöe Sevigny and Finn Wittrock.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” premieres on FX in October.
