American Idol Season 15 Top 24
“American Idol” contestant MacKenzie Bourg performs during Hollywood Week Solo Round in hopes of making it to Season 15’s top 24. Fox

The search to find the Season 15 “American Idol” winner is in full swing, and continues Thursday night as Hollywood Week wraps up. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban have a tough night ahead of them as they decide which of the 51 hopefuls will continue on to land a spot in the top 24.

Here are the five contestants we hope make it to the next round of Fox’s singing competition show:

1. Dalton Rapattoni

Rapattoni, a vocal coach from Dallas, is known for putting a rock ’n’ roll twist on popular songs, and it appears to have worked for his Hollywood Week Solo Round performance Wednesday night. Rapattoni’s performance got off to a rocky start when his guitar failed to worked, but he powered through it, impressing the judges with a dark and twisted version of “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from “Grease.” Even though the judges aren’t allowed to give feedback, Urban was heard saying that he loves Rapattoni’s “song choices.” Check out his performance of “Hopelessly Devoted to You” below:

2. La’Porsha Renae

Viewers didn’t get to see Renae perform Wednesday night, but she made it through to the top 51. Renae has a heartbreaking story that makes her relatable to other people, but she also has some amazing vocals. During her audition, Renae wowed the judges with a performance of “Creep” by Radiohead, and last week she continued to impress them as she nailed Katy Perry’s “Roar.” Rewatch her Hollywood Week performance below:

3. MacKenzie Bourg

Bourg’s audition was pretty memorable: a mashup of songs by the three judges. The singer showcased his talent again Wednesday night with an original song, “Roses,” for Hollywood Week Solo Round. All of the judges agreed Bourg is a great singer and also a good songwriter. Check out Bourg performing “Roses” below:

4. Sarah Sturm

Sturm, a former waitress with a bubbly personality, did a cool rendition of Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know” for her solo performance. Even though the judges felt it could have been a lot stronger, Lopez said she loves Sturm and thinks she’s a talented singer. Check out her performance below:

5. Sonika Vaid

Vaid sang Ariana Grande’s “One More Time” for her solo performance, and left the judges gushing over her pretty vocal skills. The quiet young singer was nervous her performance may not have secured her a spot in the top 24, but we don’t think Vaid has anything to worry about. Check out her audition below:

American Idol will reveal the top 24 contestants Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
