DeAndre Brackensick's curly locks will no longer grace the American Idol stage.

The singer was sent home despite Jennifer Lopez's use of her one save for him at an earlier time.

I'd already been saved once, so I understood why I couldn't be saved again, Brackensick told USA Today. It was just nice to get the love from the judges.

When host Ryan Seacrest asked Lopez if the decision to allow Brackensick to leave was unanimous, she bluntly said no.

Are you saying that you voted yes [to save Brackensick] and the others didn't? Seacrest asked.

Lopez answered, That is exactly what I'm saying.

The previous evening Lopez called Brackensick her shining star for his performance of DeBarge's I Like It.

DeAndre told MTV he had no nerves or regrets about his last performance.

I felt no nerves at all. No nerves at all. My last performance, in my opinion, I think was my best performance. So even though I did get cut, I'm glad I went off on something I didn't regret. I have no regrets at all.

Brackensick told Fox News his experience on Idol had been a wild ride.

American Idol is and always will be the highlight of my life, he said.
