The 2017 American Music Awards were all about the performances. Some of the best mainstream artists were there Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to show off their talents. All of the performances were great, but there were a few that really impressed audiences.

Pink and Kelly Clarkson — “Everybody Hurts” The pop divas teamed up to open the 2017 AMAs with a song dedicated to the victims of recent tragedies. Pink and Kelly Clarkson are both music veterans and powerhouse vocalists, so obviously, this was a great performance.

Imagine Dragons and Khalid — “Thunder/Young, Dumb and Broke” This was one of the best collaborations of the night. Khalid and Imagine Dragons’ mashup sounded completely organic.

Christina Aguilera — Whitney Houston Medley It’s the 25th anniversary of the movie “The Bodyguard,” and Christina sang a variety of Houston’s biggest hits to celebrate. The medley included “I Have Nothing,” “Run To You,” “I’m Every Woman” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Pink — “Beautiful Trauma” This pop star also had a solo performance during the AMAs. While her opening number was low key, her solo performance was definitely not. Pink, who is known for doing acrobatic stunts in her live shows, scaled the side of a hotel while performing.

Demi Lovato—“Sorry Not Sorry” The singer put her Twitter trolls on blast in the beginning of her performance by showing their ugly messages. “There’s so much hate in this world. We have to rise above and never say sorry for who you are,” she told the audience before launching into her hit single.

Kelly Clarkson — “Miss Independent/Love So Soft” The original American Idol proved she is still deserving of that title. She kicked off her performance with a fun rendition of “Miss Independent,” her 2003 single, and she followed with a performance of her latest single “Love So Soft.” Clarkson isn’t much for choreographed dances, but she doesn’t really need it when she can hit high notes like that.
