“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 recently saw two judge favorites being sent home in the second live results show on Wednesday night.

During Tuesday night’s live show, judges Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum raved over the performance of The Masqueraders. The three singers performed an original song from 50 years ago that they never managed to release. Cowell urged everyone to vote for the group and said that they are a wonderful example for everyone to not give up on their dreams.

However, Mel B wasn’t very happy with the performance of the singing group because she felt that their song was overproduced. In the results show, host Tyra Banks revealed that The Masqueraders were in one of the bottom three spots. This means that they needed to campaign for America’s vote on live television. The group was joined by 13-year-old singer Evie Clair and magician Eric Jones.

After the results were in, Clair received the highest number of votes and became the recipient of the Dunkin Save. Judges Cowell and Klum voted to keep The Masqueraders, but Mel B and Howie Mandel voted to keep Jones in the competition. Banks took out the final tally of votes and revealed that Jones received a higher number of votes compared to The Masqueraders so they were sent home.

Meanwhile, dog act Pompeyo Family received rave reviews from all four judges following their animal kingdom-inspired performance. Cowell was even seen laughing during one of their routines. Mel B, who became emotional after Cowell’s comments about her marriage to estranged husband Stephen Belafonte, told the family that they made her smile again.

Mandel predicted that families and groups would love to buy tickets to the Pompeyo Family’s shows, and Klum was particularly pleased with the young girl’s jumping rope routine with one of their 18 dogs. But in the end, it was revealed that the group did not receive enough votes to make it to the semifinals and were sent home.

Next week, the final 12 acts will be performing for America’s votes. DJ Khaled’s golden buzzer recipient Chase Goehring will be joined by dog act Sarah and Hero, Klum’s golden buzzer pick Angelina Green, and more.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
