‘America’s Got Talent’
Eric Jones is just one of the many other contestants who will compete in the judge cuts round in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12. NBC

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will see the return of magician Eric Jones.

The Philadelphia resident first auditioned in the hit NBC reality TV competition a year ago, but he did not receive enough votes to put him through the next round. Prior to his act, judge Simon Cowell asked Jones what makes his routine this season different from the one he did in the past. According to Jones, he made sure that his performance will be more exciting and dynamic. He also reminded Cowell that he did not receive a yes from him last time.

When it was finally time to do his act, Jones did a series of magic tricks involving a deck of cards and a hammer. He made the judges pick a card, and he accurately named which ones they selected. He also made the chosen card magically appear on Cowell’s side of the judges’ table. By the looks of it, Jones will receive yeses from all of the judges.

In the same clip released by NBC ahead of Tuesday night’s episode, it was revealed that Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum will be joined by guest judge Chris Hardwick. This means that judge cuts will officially kick off next Tuesday night. Other guest judges who are expected to help out in selecting contestants include “Orange is the New Black” star Laverne Cox, DJ Khaled and Klum’s ex-husband, Seal.

Meanwhile, “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 has already named its five golden buzzer recipients. Mandy Harvey, Darci Lynne Farmer, Christian Guardino, the Light Balance dancers and Angelina Green will automatically advance to the live shows. They will no longer be facing the judges and guest judges in the cuts. However, their place in the competition is not guaranteed since they need to receive America’s votes in order to make it to the semifinals and the finale.

Whoever wins “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will bring home the massive $1 million grand prize and will headline a series of shows in Las Vegas.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
