Amtrak train kills 2 teens who skipped school

An Amtrak train traveling near the Norwood Station, in Delaware County in Philadelphia, killed two teenage girls Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m., the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The girls were students at the Interboro Senior High School. They were supposed to be in school when the accident happened, according to the school's Superintendent Nancy Hacker, the paper noted.

A third student witnessed the incident and reported it.

The train was suspended temporally but was operating normally after 1:00 p.m. EST.
