At the Hilarity for Charity Variety Show in New York City Thursday, Amy Schumer publicly addressed her breakup with Ben Hanisch for the first time.

"I went through a breakup about a month ago. We were a year and a half, you know, it’s not that bad," Schumer said, according to People.

While her speech got off to a relatively normal start, it only escalated from there on. The audience was quickly treated to a taste of the comedian's usual dose of inappropriate humor as she made a joke about her breakup with Hanisch.

"We went out with a couple who had been together a long time, we were trying to rush the intimacy," Schumer said. "Like I was trying to impress the girl and I was like 'Well he woke me up this morning with a fart!' And he just slowly turned to me and he goes, 'Are we doing this?'"

Schumer continued to overshare the details of her former relationship by adding, "And I was like ‘No, no, no, no, we’re not opening fire. Don’t tell me any of the disgusting s—t I’ve done."

Shortly after, Schumer naturally felt it was also appropriate and timely to make a joke about her current dating life.

"I’m dating this new dude. He’s awesome," she joked. "He’s like Stephen Hawking, sexually."

The "Snatched" star had met the furniture designer through super exclusive dating app Raya, according to Brit & Co. While it was rumored that she found him through Bumble, reports have confirmed otherwise.

They flaunted their relationship in the public eye in January 2016. According to People, the couple's first public outing was during their White House visit.

Sadly, after over a year together, Schumer and Hanisch announced their split in late May.

"Amy and Ben have ended their relationship after thoughtful consideration and remain friends," Schumer's rep told Us Weekly.

Considering how happy the pair appeared to be, the breakup came as a shock to many.

When the former couple celebrated their one-year anniversary in November 2016, Hanisch shared a photo with Schumer on Instagram that he captioned with a sweet message.

"A year ago I met the love of my life," Hanisch shared. "We both weren't looking for a relationship at the time, but something felt right from the very first night we met. We ended up spending 6 days in a row together. This pic was taken in New Orleans and was the night I knew I wanted to spend my life with her."

Schumer also notably dished about her ex-boyfriend during an appearance on Howard Stern's radio show in 2016. During the interview, she revealed intimate details regarding the couple's sex life.

"We love having sex with each other, but there’s no performing," Schumer shared with Stern. "He’s so sweet. When it comes to sex, I lay there like I’m going to get a CT scan so I’m not pleasing anyone."

Here's to hoping that the pair finds love again soon, even if it's not with each other.
