Amy Winehouse's funeral was held today in England. The 27 year old singer died over the weekend, and according to her father Mitch Winehouse, left the world "the happiest she's been for years."

"Knowing she wasn't depressed, knowing she passed away happy – it makes us all feel better," Winehouse said in a statement.

While the cause of death is currently undetermined, many speculated that the singer was abusing drugs and/or alcohol. Winehouse, whose breakout hit was titled "Rehab," often struggled with addiction and substance abuse.

Yet, Winehouse's father said that his daughter hadn't consumed alcohol in three weeks and was no longer doing drugs.

Winehouse was found dead in her London home on Saturday.

"That night, she was in her room, playing drums and singing," her father claims.

"As it was late, her security guard said to keep it quiet and she did. He heard her walking around for a while and when he went to check on her in the morning he thought she was asleep. He went back a few hours later, that was when he realized she was not breathing and called for help."

Amy and Mitch Winehouse spoke twice a week, according to the statement. The soul singer was happy reminiscing about family trips and looking at old photos.

A private funeral was held in London on Tuesday.

"Amy was the greatest daughter, family member and friend you could ever had," Mitch Winehouse stated.
