The young English pop star Amy Winehouse who died at the age of 27 may have been dead for up to 6 hours before she was found on her bed on Saturday afternoon by a security guard. The security guard was the one who had been hired to look after her.

"She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep, and when he went to wake her he found she wasn't breathing," Goodman told TMZ. "He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed."

A source has reported to The People that Winehouse was seen buying a various drugs few hours before her tragic death. Other reports have said that she was binge drinking prior to her death.

However, it is not yet clear whether drugs and alcohol usage were directly related to her death.

Police are currently investigating the cause of Winehouse's death and autopsy results will come up as early as Monday.
