How To Perform A Manual Update

Download Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean official firmware for Samsung Galaxy S2 (SGH-T989) and extract the file.

Download Odin and extract the file.

Turn off Galaxy S2 and put it on the Download Mode. To do this, press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together and then press the Power button. After you see a warning screen, press Power button to confirm to enter Download Mode.

 Run Odin3_v3.04.exe as an administrator.

Connect Galaxy S2 to your computer via the USB while it is on the Download Mode. If the device is connected properly, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number.

Click the PDA button in Odin and select the “.tar.md5” firmware file that you have downloaded in step 1.

In the Odin window, ensure that “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” checkboxes are selected. In addition, if you are using a .pit file, ensure that repartition checkbox is selected. Otherwise, it should not be ticked.

Click on the Start button in Odin to initiate the flashing process. Wait for Odin to flash T989UVMC6 on your Galaxy S2.

That’s all you have to do. After the flashing stops, you will see a “pass” message with a green background in the left-most box at the top of the Odin. Your Samsung Galaxy S2 will now reboot automatically. After you get the Samsung logo on the home screen, disconnect the device from the computer.
