Google seems to be hard at work on the next Jelly Bean firmware update that will take the version to Android 4.3. In fact, the yet-to-be-announced firmware is apparently all set to go and has even been caught in action at a mobile expo.

Despite a lot of talk regarding an expected unveiling of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at this year’s Google I/O last week, the widely rumored firmware update was a no show during the annual developer conference. Some reports followed thereafter suggesting that the firmware’s release date could be set around summer.

On Friday, that speculation received some sort of authenticity as two XDA Developers Forum members claimed to have spotted a Nexus 4 model running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at the Thailand Mobile Expo 2013. They took photos of the “About phone” screen and the camera app, which appeared to have an updated user interface (UI).

It was forum member “challeen,” who first posted a couple of photos of the Android 4.3-running Nexus 4. While one of the photos revealed a pre-release build number of JWR45B and the Kernel version with the build date of May 14, another photo showed an enhanced camera app. The new UI of the camera app included a see-through action area that features toggles for HDR, contrast, rotation, white balance, etc.

Another forum member, “innocent36,” posted two more photos of what seemed to be the same Nexus 4 device. This time, one of the photos revealed the baseband version, which is "m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.74,” which is “a slight update that we've never seen before, but almost certainly intended for GSM networks,” Android Police reported.

“We also get a slightly updated look at the Jelly Bean Easter egg animation. The booth appears to be some kind of banking display, possibly for phone insurance,” the report added.

A YouTube video also surfaced on Friday, showing the updated camera UI in action. Check out a Reddit thread on the topic here.

Rumors are rife that Google will announce the white Nexus 4 on June 10 along with Android 4.3. The new firmware is expected to be a minor update with features including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support, OpenGL for Embedded Systems 3.0 graphics and app data synchronization.
