Samsung devices outside of the flagship models are now receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat update as the latest operating system is now hitting the AT&T Galaxy S4 Active.

AT&T announced the update on its blog on Wednesday. The Galaxy S4 Active I537UCUCNC2 build software is between 447MB to 877MB in weight and is available over-the-air or through manual prompt by accessing Settings > General > About device > Software update on the handset. Users will want to have their devices charged at least 50 percent before proceeding with Android 4.4 installation.

AT&T details a full change log, which includes updates and enhancements to the Galaxy S4 Active user interface, enhanced music access, easy camera access on the lock screen, an integrated location menu, wireless printing and new sound controls.

Notably, the Galaxy S4 Active updated from its native Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to Android 4.3 in January. The Galaxy S4 Active is among 14 Galaxy devices, which Samsung has confirmed will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update. The manufacturer says each carrier will determine its own rollout dates for the Galaxy devices they support.

Most recently, customers have been curious about the Android 4.4 update for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3, which are also among the device confirmed for update. The AT&T Galaxy S4 appears to be one of the first non-flagship Galaxy devices to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Other devices confirmed for update include Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S4 zoom, Galaxy S 3 mini, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy Light, Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Thus far only the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 have seen extensive Android 4.4 KitKat support both in and out of the U.S. The AT&T Galaxy Note 3 updated in March while the AT&T Galaxy S4 updated in February.

AT&T also carries the Samsung Galaxy Mega, the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy S3 mini, which have not yet updated to Android 4.4 KitKat.
