HTC says its Android 4.4 KitKat update for the T-Mobile and AT&T HTC One should be expected soon. Google

The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Sprint HTC One began two weeks ago, followed by the update for the Verizon HTC One last week. Though U.S. carriers have been experiencing delays with their HTC One updates, the manufacturer says the remaining mobile networks should start to receive Android 4.4 for the HTC One this week.

HTC held an “Ask Me Almost Anything” session on Reddit this past Friday, where Vice President Product Management Martin Fichter, Executive Director of Product Management Mohammed Versi and Product Manager Leigh Momii answered questions specific to the manufacturer’s North American sector. Shying away from questions about support issues and upcoming hardware, the group did delve into questions about the Android 4.4 KitKit update for several devices, including the flagship HTC One. As said, the Sprint and Verizon HTC One models are now updating to Android 4.4, with the T-Mobile and AT&T models remaining.

In response to queries about the HTC One T-Mobile update, HTC said:

It's with T-Mobile now in the final steps of certification, and you should see it start to push within the next few days.

Further confirmation on Android 4.4 updates for both models comes from the president of HTC North America, Jason Mackenzie, who recently tweeted that T-Mobile users “won’t wait long for Android 4.4.2 to hit that model."

In response to questions about the AT&T HTC One, Mackenzie said:

It's in testing. I've asked @htc to update anticipated push date early next week.

Thus far, HTC has not put out any new information about the Android 4.4 update; however, the increasingly transparent manufacturer is sure to update once more information is available.

In addition to the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and all of its features, T-Mobile and AT&T HTC One owners should expect such enhancements as the HTC Sense 5.5 UI, major updates to HTC’s BlinkFeed, and a new Do Not Disturb app, once the update hits.

Users can check to see if Android 4.4 is available for their handsets early by manually accessing: Settings > about phone > software updates.
