Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now gradually being rolled out by different OEMs. The update has arrived for some LG G4, Moto X Style and Moto X (Gen 2) handsets. HTC has also released the Android 6.0 update for HTC One M8 Google Play Edition handset and now it has just released the update for users of unlocked HTC One M8 handsets in the U.S.

The Android 6.0 update has been released in the U.S. after Mo Versi, HTC’s VP for product management, confirmed on Twitter that the unlocked owners of One M8 will be receiving the Android 6.0 within 24 hours. As far HTC One M8 users on different U.S. carriers are also confirmed to receive the update early next year.

According to famous leakster, LlabTooFeR, the HTC One M8 users in the Europe are expected to receive the Android 6.0 update in about two weeks’ duration. The update will also include the latest HTC Sense 7 UI. Mo Versi has also confirmed that the Android M update is imminent for HTC One M9 owners.

Phone Arena has reported early this year HTC had stated that Marshmallow update would be coming to HTC One M8 and M9 users by the end of 2016. Since the update has already arrived for HTC One M8 users, it seems that the update will be coming to HTC One M9 within this month. The U.S. carrier editions of HTC One M9 are expected to receive the latest Android build at the beginning of 2016.

It is surprising to note that the HTC One M8 GPE handset that is presently unsupported by the manufacturer has received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update already. HTC has also officially confirmed that the Android 6.0 will be released for other handsets like One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 Eye, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816. The Taiwanese tech giant has not revealed the exact time from for releasing the Android 6.0 update for these handsets.
