HTC’s VP of Product Management Mo Versi tweeted recently that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for HTC One M8 specific to T-Mobile will be rolled out starting March 7. As it turns out, the M8 users have started receiving the OTA update in the U.S.

Other than T-Mobile, HTC One M8 users under Verizon network have tweeted saying they have received the firmware package as well. HTC had promised earlier that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be sent out to all the flagships, including the two-year-old M8. Versi has been very active on Twitter updating HTC customers and fans with on-time news about the progress and status of the firmware update.

Verizon’s HTC One M8 is reportedly receiving the following software version: 6.21.605.3. The T-Mobile variant, on the other hand, should show this build number: 6.20.531.5.

Both the versions bundle all the Marshmallow goodness including the run-time permission changes, Doze feature for battery life improvement and Google Now on Tap. This firmware will also bring in the new volume controls specific to notifications, audio and alarms. In addition, the screen capture has been reportedly simplified.

Furthermore, Android Central noted that T-Mobile is rolling out the OTA Marshmallow update for the mid-range LG G Stylo. The Android 6.0 OTA update for LG G Stylo reportedly carries the following version number: H63120b. This software update weighs 767 MB.

In any case, readers should note that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates are being rolled out in phases. Hence, it could take a couple of days before reaching your handsets. T-Mobile, meanwhile, says the firmware update will be sent out between March 7 and March 21, GSM Arena noted.
