Angelina Jolie sported a chic look for her appearance at the United Nations Peacekeeping Defense Conference at Lancaster House in London on Thursday. The actress praised servicemen and women during her address at the event.

“I pay tribute to the men and women who serve... for their commitment and their sacrifices,” she said.

Jolie wore a knee-length black dress that had sheer long sleeves and appeared elegant. She accessorized her look with small diamond earrings and wore light makeup. The actress tied her hair in a loose bun and completed her look with nude heels.

The 41-year-old gave an emotional address at the event and called for more female peacekeepers at a time when allegations of sexual assault by troops sent to troubles areas are growing.

“We all know that the credibility of UN peacekeeping has been sadly undermined by the actions of a few intolerable cases of women and children being sexually exploited by the very people in charge of protecting them,” Jolie said.

“Peacekeeping forces can only gain and keep the trust of local populations if they are able to engage with women as well as men in that community,” the actress added.
