Ann Romney joined Twitter on Wednesday, to respond to Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen who told CNN that Mitt Romney's wife has never worked a day in her life and therefore, didn't have to worry about some of the economic issues a majority of women are now facing.

There have been talks about a war on women this presidential race. However, things got a bit more personal and heated when Rosen told CNN's Anderson Cooper that Mitt Romney's wife doesn't have to worry about how to feed her children or send them to school like a majority of other women do.

With respect to economic issues I think, actually, that Mitt Romney is right that ultimately women care more about the economic well being of their family and the like. But he doesn't connect on that issue either, Rosen said. What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, 'Well, you know my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues and when I listen to my wife that's what in hearing.' Guess what? His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and why do we worry about their future.

Those words were enough to prompt Ann Romney, a mother of five, to join Twitter to defend herself against Rosen's comments.

I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work, Ann Romney tweeted from her @AnnDRomney Twitter handle. It was her first tweet.

Her son, Josh Romney, also tweeted in defense that @AnnDRomney is one of the smartest, hardest working woman I know. Could have done anything with her life, chose to raise me.

Rosen then tweeted, @AnnDRomney I am raising children too. But most young American women HAVE to BOTH earn a living AND raise children. You know that don't u?

That tweet was later followed by another, which read, @AnnDRomney Please know, I admire you. But your husband shouldn't say you are his expert on women and the economy. #HeNeedsMore

Ann Romney released her second tweet on Thursday morning, noting that she will be making an appearance to talk about Rosen's comments.

Mitt Romney has claimed that more than 90 percent of all jobs lost during Obama's time in office have been lost by women.

92.3 percent! Now the president says, 'Oh I didn't cause this recession,' that's true, Romney was quoted by ABC News as he spoke at a female-run construction firm in Delaware. He just made it worst and made it last longer and because it lasted longer, more and more women lost jobs. Such that in his 3 ½ years, 92.3 percent of the people who have lost jobs have been women.

The Obama administration has said that while the numbers being used by the presidential hopeful is not inaccurate, they do not present the full context of what things were like when Obama got into the office.

Obama campaign manager, Jim Messina, also took to Twitter after Rosen's comments to do some quick damage control and wrote, I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize.
