Some are speculating that Annie Stensrud, a Minnesota news anchor, might have been drunk while broadcasting live after footage leaked of her bizarre and erratic newscast.

Annie Stensrud, the anchor for small market KEYC-TV, the CBS/Fox affiliate in Mankato, MN (Market #198), seemed extremely out of sorts while reading the evening stories for the 10 p.m. newscast Sunday night.

The three-and-a-half minute clip shows Stensrud slurring her words and swaying slightly back and forth. The newscaster speech was sluggish and she mispronounced multiple words, including institute.

She even spoke over footage from a local Christmas event.

They felt three ways for Christmas...parents and grandparents, said Stensrud, speaking over a gentleman giving a pre-recorded interview.

After the three-and-a-half minutes, the station went to commercial and when the newscast returned Stendsrud had been replaced by the station's weatherman and sports anchor. The two completed the show from there.

According to NewsBlues, a news insider Web site, the station's News Director Dan Ruiter said viewers were jumping to conclusions if they assumed Strensrud was drunk. There was no proof of that, he said.

The station's VP General Manager Dennis Wahlstromin acknowledged that something was amiss.

Sunday night's uncharacteristic newscast on KEYC Mankato can hardly be considered private. Nonetheless, in our judgment, the matter represents a personnel issue to be resolved internally, he said.

The Web site did not reveal any indication as to whether Strendsrud is still employed with the station or not. She has been anchoring the weekend evening broadcasts for a year now, reports The Daily Mail.

The video currently has over 85,000 hits on YouTube.
