Once again, another strike takes place in Greece as a result of the austerity measures as the government decided to increase taxes on alcohol and tobacco, reducing spending by freezing pension and lower civil servants' salaries. This time, the 24-hour strike caused schools and hospitals to close while flights were also grounded.

The government of Greece is doing all measures to reduce the budget deficit that stands at 12.7% which is more than the 3% limit of the 16-region nations.
