Research in Motion (RIM) has hired Don Lindsay, fromer Apple designer, as its new vice president of user experience, according to Moconews, which saw a change in his Linked In profile

As its new vice president of user experience, Lindsay will be charged with creating the VP of user experience, the mobile industry site said. The job which will likely involve making changes to the look and feel of the Blackberry device.

RIM and Apple have not yet commented on the news.

RIM shipped 7.8 million devices, or an average 2.6 million per month during the three-month period ending in February compare to Apple shipped of 4.4 million iPhones, or an average 1.5 million per month.
