The tech giant Apple will reportedly hold an event that's important but not large-scale in the Big Apple (New York) at the end of January.

Although Apple fans are speculating if the event relates with the highly anticipated iPad 3, which is supposed to launch early this year, All Things D said that the event has nothing to do with Apple's next tablet, nor TV product, which reportedly will release later in 2012.

This time, the company might focus on publishing industry and eBooks and, accordingly, the attendance will be more publishing industry-oriented than consumer-focused, TechCrunch reported, citing an anonymous source.

Eddy Cue, Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services, who is in charge of Apple’s media units such as the iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, iAd and the iCloud services, might be involved in the event.

No one can confirm what the event will be about and Apple has refused to comment on it.
