In September, Apple announced several devices such as iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4. However, the Cupertino company did not announce the iPad Air 3, the successor model for iPad Air 2 from 2014. KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that the iPad Air 3 will be unveiled in the first half of next year.

The Apple iPad Air 3 is heavily rumored to get announced through a launch event in March 2016. During the same event, Apple is expected to unleash the Apple Watch 2 as well as iPhone 6C. According to Kuo, the 3D Touch feature that is one of the USPs of the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and iPad Pro won’t be arriving on the iPad Air 3, 9 to 5 Mac reported.

The analyst has forecasted that due to production problems, the 3D Touch feature will not be available on iPad Air 3. In the early stages, the supply chain had manufactured more number of 3D Touch component. However, at present there is high inventory for 3D Touch technology because of which it seems unlikely that the iPad Air 3 will be featuring it.

The iPad Air 3 rumors suggest that it will be coming with 9.7-inch display. It is expected to powered the Apple A9X chipset that is also present under the hood of iPad Pro. It is expected to feature a rear shooter of 8-megapixel. It is also expected to launch with a price tag of $610.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets that will arrive next year are expected to feature the same 3D Touch technology. Hence, there won’t be any production issue for 3D Touch on the next generation iPhones. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus smartphones are expected to get announced in September 2016.
