The Apple iPad Air 3 is expected to get unleashed in March this year while rumored features of the upcoming device suggest that it will be a smaller edition of the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro tablet.

Engadget has revealed a drawing of the purported iPad Air 3 tablet. According to the image, the iPad Air 3 will be thicker by 0.05 mm than the iPad Air 2. Also, it will be wider by 0.1 mm over the predecessor model. However, when it comes to appearance, it will look like a small-sized iPad Pro.

The publication has reported that the soft cases that are designed for the iPad Air 2 will be usable with the upcoming iPad Air 3. However, the iPad Air 3 will be thicker and wider, the hard cases of iPad Air 2 will not fit in properly and may result in scratches.

The iPad Air 3 will be the first ever iPad to come with an LED flash for its main camera. The quad speakers that are present on the iPad Pro will be also available on the iPad Air 2 successor. The Smart Connector feature on the iPad Air 3 will enable users to make use of ‘Smart’ accessories like the Smart Keyboard.

The iPad Air 3 will not only resemble the iPad Pro externally but also its hardware components will be borrowed from the largest iPad ever. The rumor mill has revealed that the iPad Air 3 will be featuring Apple A9X chipset under its hood. The SoC will be supported by 4 GB of RAM.

The iPad Air 3 will continue to feature 9.7-inch display. However, it is expected to feature higher resolution than the predecessor model. In the coming month, the Cupertino company is expected to hold a launch event to unveil Apple Watch 2, Apple iPhone 5Se and iPad Air 3.
