Huawei’s answer to the now-famous 2-in-1 tablets is the new MateBook. This device follows the path pioneered by Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4. The other competitor is the powerful Apple iPad Pro. Apple has released two variants of the iPad Pro. One of them carries a 12.9-inch display, while the other settles for a 9.7-inch screen.

In this post we have compared the configurations and price of the Huawei MateBook and the Apple iPad Pro (12.9-inch).

Huawei MateBook vs. iPad Pro: Price, Accessory

The Huawei MateBook is now available for preorder at the Microsoft Store for $699, whereas the Apple iPad Pro will set the buyers back by $799.

Speaking of accessories, MateBook's stylus and keyboard are priced at $59 and $129, respectively. In comparison, iPad Pro’s stylus comes for $99, while the keyboard can be availed for $169.

Huawei MateBook vs. iPad Pro: Design

The Huawei’s MateBook and Apple’s iPad Pro look similar in size, exterior design and thickness. However, the MateBook is apparently lighter than the iPad Pro.

Under the hood, it resembles the powerful Surface Pro 4. Huawei tablet is not powered by Android OS, but by Windows 10. The iPad Pro, on the other hand, runs iOS 9.

Both 2-in-1 tablets come with optional detachable keyboard and stylus. But then, MateBook wins hands down when it comes to ease of use as it features a touchpad, while the iPad Pro doesn’t, Digital Trends reported.

Apple iPad Pro comes with a 12.9-inch Retina display and 2,732 × 2,048 pixels screen resolution, whereas the Huawei MateBook flaunts a relatively smaller 12-inch IPS LCD display and 2,160 x 1,440 pixels resolution.

Under the hood, the Huawei device comes powered by a dual-core (Intel Core M) SoC, running at 3.1GHz and backed by 4GB or 8GB of RAM. Huawei has equipped the device with 128GB, 256GB or 512 GB of native storage space.

The iPad Pro, on the other hand, is powered by Apple A9X chipset, clocked at 2.26GHz and backed by 4GB of RAM. This device comes equipped with 32GB or 128GB of internal storage capacity.

Huawei MateBook vs. iPad Pro: Connectivity, Camera, Battery

The Huawei MateBook supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1, Type C, headset and keyboard smart connector. In comparison, the iPad Pro supports Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, headphone and lightning connector.

Camera-wise, the MateBook sports a 5-megapixel webcam at the front, whereas the iPad Pro features an 8-megapixel main camera and a 1.2-megapixel selfie-shooter.

About battery life, both devices are apparently capable of offering up to 10 hours of battery charge after a full recharge.
