The iPhone 6, a rumored next-generation version of Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) flagship smartphone, is still months away from its expected release sometime in September, but fully-function iPhone 6 clones -- powered by Android -- have already popped up in China.

New reports point to two iPhone 6 lookalikes, developed based on leaked design components expected to be part of the newest iPhone. One of the iPhone 6 clones, dubbed the “Wico i6,” runs on Android KitKat and features a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1704x960 pixels, which is the same resolution that the next version of the iPhone has been rumored to offer.

The “Wico i6,” first reported by 86DIGI, is apparently powered by a quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity. The device, which has genuine-looking FCC labeling and typical Apple styling, copies the rumored form factor of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, which is expected to feature a slim frame, and also sports a power button and extended volume buttons on the right side.

In addition to the “Wico i6,” another Chinese company called Goophone also has announced that it will launch its own version of the iPhone 6, dubbed the “Goophone i6,” on August 1, more than a month ahead of Apple’s expected release of the iPhone 6.

The “Goophone i6” features a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 chip, a 4.7-inch LCD IPS screen, 1 GB RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The phone also runs on Android OS, GizChina reported, adding that Goophone has been releasing iPhone clones since the launch of the iPhone 4 in 2010. Goophone also makes clone models of HTC and Samsung smartphones.
