The rumors and leaks surrounding the Apple iPhone 6s and the jumbo sibling iPhone 6s Plus have double-folded, as the scheduled release date nears. In a recent development, key configuration details pertaining to the upcoming devices have been leaked from China, providing information about what the two flagship handsets could finally offer.

Going by the Weibo report from a China Telecom official, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus release date has been scheduled between Sept. 18 and Sept. 25, specific to China. Meanwhile, the devices are expected to be announced on Sept. 9.

As far as the iPhone 6s specifications are concerned, the Telecom official reportedly said that both the models will feature the Force Touch technology, seen in the current-generation Apple Watch. The Force Touch feature will be able to differentiate between a normal tap on the display and a stronger input. Apart from the Apple handsets, the ZTE Axon Mini and Huawei Mate S also come with Force Touch option, Phone Arena reported.

In addition Apple has reportedly housed a 2 GB RAM unit on its devices. The devices could also feature an enhanced camera unit sporting a 12-megapixel sensor. Under the hood, the new handsets will be powered by the latest Apple A9 chip.

However, the Chinese telecom official has not heard about a possible Rose Gold/Pink variant of the new iPhone 6s. Not long ago, a slew of images surfaced showcasing the upcoming iPhone in Rose Gold.

Meanwhile, there is no confirmation available on the rumored 4-inch Apple iPhone 6c and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablet.
