Apple releases iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 to the Developers just two days post the release of iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1. It was indeed a pleasant surprise for the developer community as it seeded them with another point release, the iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 software build 9A404. The update is available for all iOS 5-compatible devices and can be updated over-the-air by users who have iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 installed.

The new software is available for Apple iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2 and third and fourth-generation iPod touch devices. Reports are trickling of developers facing issues in trying to download the update. However, reports suggest that download is hassle-free when over-the-air update is carried out directly on devices running iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 by opening the Settings app, tapping General and then Software Update.

iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1: Promising improved performance

The iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 version (carrying a build number of 9A402) released earlier created quite a buzz as it offered to enable multitasking gestures on the original iPad, fix bugs affecting battery life in iPhone 4S; resolves bugs with documents in iCloud, improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation, and fix the Smart Cover security flaw, amongst many more.

Do you think we'll see more of these update in days to come? What do you think is Apple's strategy?
