Testing for watchOS 3.1 continues as Apple rolls out this Wednesday another beta version of the upcoming Apple Watch OS update. The third pre-release is now available to developers.

According to 9To5Mac, since this is already the third beta, it does not come with new features. Instead, it contains general watchOS fixes. However, based on the release notes Apple provided, it appears the new pre-release of the upcoming update does not contain new fixes.

Interestingly, AppleInsider claims it has found Reddit users who have indicated that the new watchOS 3.1 beta with build code 14S471 actually improves battery life. Still, developers should watch out for the updated release notes that will be available soon to know more about the new beta.

For registered developers, they may download the third beta by heading to Software Update in the General Settings of their Apple Watch app installed on their iPhone devices. Another means of obtaining the new beta is by downloading it directly as a Configuration Profile from the Apple developer center.

MacRumors reports developers should see to it that their Apple Watch must have at least 50 percent battery life when installing the beta. It is also recommended to connect the device to a charger and the Apple Watch should also be in close range with its paired up iPhone handset.

The release of watchOS 3.1 beta 3 comes a month after watchOS 3 was launched to Apple Watch users and just a week after the second beta was rolled out. Beta testing for the update began on Sept. 21.

Apple’s watchOS 3 is the latest user interface of the company’s Apple Watch and Apple Watch 2 devices. It debuted with new features, such as the Breathe app, new Reminders, Heart Rate apps, Find My Friends, a revamped Messages app and the new Scribble feature.
