Owners of Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) Mac Pro can now physically secure the expensive workstation computer with a new security lock adapter from the Cupertino, California, tech titan.

The Mac Pro Security Lock Adapter appeared in the Apple Store Tuesday evening, offering Mac Pro users a way to secure their expensive desktop workstations to a desk, or any stationary object for that matter. The $49 Mac Pro Security Lock Adapter lets Mac Pro owners use standard Kensington Security Slot locks or any compatible locks to keep the professional workstation in place.

According to Apple, the Security Lock Adapter attaches to the Mac Pro without the need for tools and is secured to the computer's housing when the lock is connected to the Mac Pro. When attached, the Mac Pro Security Lock secures both the physical chassis along with the internal components of the Mac desktop.

The newest Mac Pro was launched in late 2013 with a completely redesigned chassis and internals. Early adopters of the Mac Pro quickly found that the professional workstation didn’t have a built-in security slot and turned to homemade lock slot adapters and other third-party solutions to secure their Mac Pros since Apple didn’t offer their own lock adapter solution until now.

The Mac Pro Security Lock Adapter can be purchased directly from Apple's online store.
