April, the pregnant giraffe at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, is keeping hundreds of thousands of people across the world waiting for her to give birth, there has been considerable progress in her condition, the zoo said Friday.

The upstate New York zoo set up a live stream Feb. 10 to allow people to be a part of her pregnancy. With around 90,000 people watching the livestream at most times, the pregnant giraffe has become nothing short of an internet sensation.

While many expected her to go into labor weeks ago, April has not shown any signs of active labor, over a month after the live feed was set up. There was, however, a malfunction of the cam late afternoon Friday, that led to the zoo receiving over 2,000 emails to resolve the issue. The park apologized promptly and the live feed is back up and running.

The zoo also posts regular updates on its Facebook page, followed by over 900,000 people, to inform them about April’s health. In the evening update Friday, the zoo said, “April had a busy day, but handled it like a champ and continues to progress.”

“This afternoon’s vet observations suggests milk has begun to fill the right udders,” the post continued. “Wax caps remain and back end swell has continued to maintain a significant size. Appetite strong, moodiness returned this evening.”

The zoo’s update earlier in the day said the giraffe was experiencing significant kicks in her belly, surely a step closer to the end of her pregnancy. The new calf will be April’s fourth, but her mate Oliver’s first calf. Oliver, who is only five-years-old, lives in the enclosure next to April and can be seen making appearances on the livestream.
