“Bachelor” fans rooting for Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell need to thank VH1’s “Couples Therapy.” The 33-year-old single father revealed to Access Hollywood that his relationship with the 27-year-old might not have lasted had not Dr. Jenn Berman stepped in.

Season 5 of “Couples Therapy” premiered on VH1 on Wednesday, introducing viewers to celebrity couples who are struggling with their significant others. While Juan Pablo and Andi refused to talk to “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison about their relationship during the “After the Final Rose” special, they’re finally opening up about their troubles to Berman.

“We are so glad we did ['Couples Therapy'],” Juan Pablo told Access Hollywood. “I don’t think we’d be together right now if we hadn’t done it.”

During a preview of the season, both Nikki and Juan Pablo confessed to the cameras that the backlash from “The Bachelor” took a toll on their early relationship. Viewers will remember that while Nikki received the final rose from Juan Pablo, he did not propose or say “I love you.” Instead, he told her that he really liked her and wanted to continue seeing her after the show. The pair is still dating, but Nikki claims that Juan Pablo has still not said those three little words to her. Meanwhile, Juan Pablo told the “Couples Therapy” cameras that he’s trying to make their romance work, but places his culture and daughter as two of the main factors in moving forward and fully committing to the relationship.

As for whether Juan Pablo will say “I love you” by the end of “Couples Therapy,” he would not spoil the ending for Access Hollywood.

“That’s a very good question,” he said. “You guys have to watch the show. … It’s very interesting when you watch the show. I’m just telling you because you will understand the reason.”

Whether or not Juan Pablo and Nikki have solidified their relationship, they still have a lot of work to do– especially if they want to attend “Bachelorette” Andi Dorfman’s wedding to Josh Murray. Andi, who made it to Juan Pablo’s final three during his season of “The Bachelor,” infamously told the single dad off for his rude behavior before leaving the show. She found her happily-ever-after with Josh during “The Bachelorette,” and the pair got engaged during the season finale. Fans of the series know that Andi and Nikki became good friends during the filming of “The Bachelor,” so when reporters asked if Nikki and Juan Pablo would be invited to her nuptials, Andi had a sassy response. “Going to be a soft no for now, unless he marries Nikki,” Andi revealed. “Then by default, which he knows about, he’ll come to the wedding.”
