Artist Leanie van der Vyver and shoemaker René van den Berg have created a reverse high heel shoe that appears to be the ultimate test of no-pain-no-gain beauty.

The shoes seemingly have two heels, which are at least a foot high. In a video demonstration showing a model walking in the shoes, the young woman literally has to climb into the shoes and cannot even stand fully upright as she walks in them.

Instead, she has to hunch over, and her calves appear to be shaking with each step.

“Humans are playing God by physically and metaphorically perfecting themselves. Beauty is currently at an all-time climax, allowing this project to explore what lies beyond perfection.

"Scary Beautiful challenges current beauty ideals by inflicting an unexpected new beauty standard,” the designers said about the innovative shoe design, according to FashionablyGeek.com.

Maybe Lady Gaga, who is known to wear outlandish shoe creations, will purchase these shoes, but it is doubtful that the average woman will be able to wear the artsy footwear.

This is not the first time fashion has been taken to the ultimate extreme.

Earlier this month, a model walked down the runway for the Spring/Summer 2013 Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week carrying a hula hoop-size black and white Chanel quilted bag, which certainly took attention away from her long legs and colorfully patterned three-toned shoes.
