National Weather Service has kept several counties in Arkansas under Tornado watch until 4 am central time this morning.

East Arkansas

In east Arkansas, the tornado watch includes 3 counties: Crittenden, Cross and St. Francis and cities including Forrest City, West Memphis and Wynne.

In eastern Arkansas, Jackson and Woodruff counties are placed under Tornado watch.

CENTRAL ARKANSAS

In Central Arkansas, White county has been kept under tornado watch.

In North Central Arkansas, the following counties are placed under tornado watch: Baxter, Boone, Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Marion, Newton, Searcy, Sharp, Stone and Van Buren.

The tornado watch is also applicable for the cities of Ash Flat, Augusta, Batesville, Beebe, Bull Shoals, Calico Rock, Cave City, Clinton, Cotton Plant, Fairfield Bay, Flippin, Hardy, Harrison, Heber Springs, Horseshoe Bend, Jasper, Leslie, Mammoth Spring, Marshall, Mccrory, Melbourne, Mountain Home, Mountain View, Newport, Oxford, Searcy, Summit, Viola, Western Grove And Yellville.

Northwest Arkansas

In northwest Arkansas, Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties are placed under tornado watch.

The watch is also applicable for the cities of Bentonville, Berryville, Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, Huntsville, Rogers and Springdale.

Meanwhile, a powerful tornado on Sunday tore through the southwestern Missouri town of Joplin, killing over 20 people and leaving several injured. The storm system that led to the Joplin tornado also generated twisters from Oklahoma to Wisconsin, leaving at least one person dead in Minneapolis.
