Kyle West (Josh Henderson) may never get to work on his passion project again.

In a sneak peek from Season 1, episode 8 of “The Arrangement,” Deann Anderson (Lexa Doig) pays Kyle a visit on the set of his latest acting project to deliver some bad news.

“I have some news you’re not gonna love,” Deann tells Kyle. “But if we take a breath, we’ll see that there’s a real silver lining here.”

When Kyle asks what it is, Deann reveals that they no longer have the rights to “The Resistance,” the movie that he had been wanting to direct for a very long time. Deann says that their option was not extended and that the rights to the film was already sold to another production company. “For who?” Kyle asks. “If you tell me Jeremy Renner I’m gonna lose my mind!”

“Then I won’t tell you,” Deann replies.

Kyle asks if Adam Westfeldt (Mark Gantt) was behind this mess, but Deann says that he doesn’t know what Adam was thinking. She then tries to convince Kyle to just look for a different project to direct. “Listen, I get that you are pissed. So as I,” Deann tells him. “But we can try and look at the opportunity that this gives us.”

“‘The Resistance’ is the opportunity,” a furious Kyle replies. “I found the story. I’ve been working on this for three years. … I’m not moving on to anything else. Somehow people have started to think that they can mess with me. And I’m not gonna let that happen.”

For those who don’t remember, Adam works for the studio Kyle has a deal with. He made his debut appearance in Season 1, episode 3, in which he suggested replacing Megan Morrison (Christine Evangelista) with a more prominent actress in “The Kill Plan.”

In Season 1, episode 6, Adam met up with Deann to tell her that their option for “The Resistance” was already up. When Deann told him to extend the option, Adam replied: “Well, the assumption was that it would be pro forma. But either the widow [of the writer of ‘The Resistance’] or her asshole lawyer is being uncooperative. … And to be honest, I’m not that inclined to push for another World War II biopic.”

When Deann accused him of turning back on Kyle, Adam said: “I’m not turning my back. The deal fell apart. That’s the business.”

“The Arrangement” Season 1, episode 8, titled “The Betrayal,” airs tomorrow, April 23 at 10 p.m. EDT on E!
