As fans wait in eager anticipation for the Netflix season premiere of “Arrested Development,” let's take a look at some of the many recurring jokes and themes that happen throughout the series. From the banana stand to Tobias Funke's extremely poor choice of words, there are tons of references that fans can look back at before the premiere of the show.

1. Tobias Funke's Way With Words

Tobias Funke, Lindsey Bluth Funke’s husband, has quite a way with words, unintentionally turning everything he says into double entendres or words that just sound utterly wrong. A prime example: his business cards with the title “analrapist,” which he describes as a combination of analyst and therapist.

2. "There's always money in the banana stand."

George Oscar Bluth Sr. tells his son, “There’s always money in the banana stand,” slyly hinting at money he'd stashed away in the walls of the stand. But Michael didn't get the hint and burned down the stand. The stand itself ends up becoming a regular location for the crazy plots of the Bluth family.

3. "No touching!"

More often than not, the prison guards interrupt family members meeting with George Oscar Bluth Sr. when they touch while in the visitors room.

4. Juice

Buster Bluth has serious trouble controlling himself around juice and juice boxes, and he gets hyper from the sugar. This lends to his immature and underdeveloped oedipal nature.

5. "That's why you always leave a note."

George Oscar Bluth often taught his children “valuable life lessons” by hiring a man with a prosthetic arm to scare his kids and repeating the lesson at the end.

6. Chicken Dance

For some reason, the entire Bluth family has a thing for chicken impressions. Each member happens to do his or her own chicken dance in a different style with a different "squawk."

7. "I’ve made a huge mistake."

A line often repeated by George Oscar Bluth, or GOB, it's also been used by other Bluth family members at times when they realize they really screwed up.
