Flash
Barry (Grant Gustin, pictured) closes in on his mother's killer in episode 9 of "The Flash" Season 1. The CW

It was a big week for fans of the CW’s “Arrow” and “The Flash.” The two night double-episode crossover event had it all – comedy, action, drama, and a showdown between the superheroes. The crossover -- which ended Wednesday with "Arrow" Season 3, episode 8, "The Brave and the Bold" -- shook up both shows quite a bit, so, with both series airing their mid-season finales next week, what happens now for Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell)?

Barry and the S.T.A.R. Labs team picked up a lot of wisdom from the much more serious and experienced team Arrow. They may need it. The next episode of “The Flash,” episode 9, “The Man in the Yellow Suit,” will see Barry face his most dangerous and personal enemy yet – Reverse Flash, the man who killed Barry’s mother.

Plus, Oliver gave Barry some advice about Iris (Candice Patton) in the first crossover episode, telling him to forget about his feelings for her before they both get hurt. The synopsis for episode 9 of “The Flash” reveals that Eddie (Rick Cosnett) might force Barry to have to forget about her sooner than he thought. Apparently, Eddie will give Iris a very special Christmas gift and ask her a life-changing question. Could this be a proposal?

As for “Arrow,” Oliver and his team also benefitted from the crossover, even if Arrow did not want to admit it. Barry helped Oliver take down Captain Boomerang (Nick Tarabay). In fact, without Barry racing to stop the five bombs the villain planted, Oliver may have been toast. In addition, S.T.A.R. Labs is now assisting in the investigation for Sara Lance’s (Caity Lotz) killer.

Oliver will need all the help he can get as the synopsis for the episode 9, “The Climb,” reveals that Ra’s Al Ghul (Matt Nable) will return, giving Oliver 48 hours to find Sara Lance’s killer before he begins killing people in Starling City. The episode will culminate in a deadly battle between Oliver and the more than intimating Ra’s Al Ghul that fans will not want to miss.

As for future crossover fun, "Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told the Hollywood Reporter that in addition to helping with Sara Lance's killer, some S.T.A.R. Labs inventions will come in handy for Team Arrow, so fans can look forward to those. However, it seems there are currently no more visits planned between Central City and Starling.

Will Barry stop his mother’s killer? Will Oliver be able to handle Ra’s Al Ghul? Fans will have to tune in to the midseason finales to find out. “The Flash” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST and “Arrow” airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST, both on the CW.
