"Arrow" Season 4 will introduce Vixen (Megalyn E.K.) to the live-action series for the first time in episode 15 following the success of her animated show on CW Seed. The CW

Just when you thought Team Arrow was already jam-packed with superheroes, the hit CW show will expand even further by introducing the DC Comics character Vixen (Megalyn E.K.). With time running out in his battle against Star City’s newest threat, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) must go to war once and for all on "Arrow."

While Vixen’s guest appearance will be the main focus of Season 4, episode 15, it will also see the team react to the major cliffhanger left over from last week’s episode. After Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) revealed the existence of Oliver’s son to Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the magical baddie made a big power play against the hero by kidnapping the boy. According to a teaser clip for the upcoming episode, “Taken,” Oliver will decide to take the fight to Darhk rather than complying with his ransom demands. However, in order to do this he must call on the help of the superhero from Detroit, Vixen.

According to the episode’s official plot synopsis from the CW, Vixen will be considered an old friend to Oliver, which makes sense since this isn’t the first time fans of the show have seen them fight crime together. For those unfamiliar, Megalyn E.K.’s appearance as Vixen began with voiceover work on a canon animated series that launched exclusively on the network’s online streaming service, CW Seed. According to CinemaBlend, Oliver and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) have appeared and their respective actors have done the voice work for those animated cameos, which explains why she’s considered an old friend.

Like Darhk, Vixen has powers that are based on the newly introduced world of magic. Using her ability to summon animal powers, she’s able to track Darhk and send Team Arrow into battle against the villain in an effort to rescue Oliver’s kid. However, step one of that journey will see Oliver explaining to everyone around him that he both has a son and was keeping him a secret from them.

Elsewhere in the episode, a newly healed Thea (Willa Holland) will finally have a sit down conversation with her father, Merlyn. After losing control of the infamous League of Assassins, Merlyn vowed revenge on Oliver and is directly responsible for his son’s kidnapping. Now his sister will have to have a chat with her father to see if there is any hope of redemption left or if the two will finally have to fight to the death at the end of the season.

“Arrow” Season 4, episode 15 airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
