Curtis (Echo Kellum) will get a new Mr. Terrific costume later in “Arrow” Season 5. CW

“Arrow” Season 5 seems to be focusing on growth, both personal and professional. For Curtis, he has a long way to go. The computer nerd has decided that he isn’t going to be Felicity’s sidekick in the lair. He wants to be out there fighting. Actor Echo Kellum revealed that his character is going to continue to struggle on the CW drama.

“I can’t wait for people to see where this character goes and his journey throughout this season,” Kellum told IGN. “It’s going to be tough for him. It’s not going to be a cakewalk. We talked about that in the first episode, that he has the furthest way to go of all the heroes.”

Though Curtis hasn’t had too many heroic moments in “Arrow” Season 5, he is getting there. Kellum promised that fans would soon see progress. “You’re really going to see him struggle with that but I think it’s really going to pay off when you see him finally start to succeed, and his determination, and the smarts and his athleticism is really going to start coming into play. You see him start kicking a--,” he added.

Perfecting his vigilante skills comes with a reward: a better costume. Though he already has a Mr. Terrific uniform with a black mask, leather jacket and braids (which seem a bit time consuming for a superhero costume change), he’ll have nicer duds when he gets the hang of his superhero gig. “The final Mr. Terrific suit is mint,” the actor teased.

Even as the recruits figure out how to save their city, they’re still going to be on very different pages, especially when it comes to Prometheus. “You’ll see just how the team members react to what Prometheus’ goal is,” Echo Kellum teased to TVLine. Their reactions will be “varied.”

As previously reported, Prometheus will be someone that was affected by Oliver’s Season 1 actions. The man behind the mask is likely someone fans already know. After all, The CW won’t even credit the actor in the suit. But will the recruits recognize him?

“Arrow” Season 5 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
