Arrow
Oliver (Stephen Amell) will have several new vigilantes to mentor in “Arrow” Season 5. CW

“Arrow” Season 5 will have plenty of new cast members. Team Arrow was left feeling a little small at the end of the Season 4 finale. Diggle and Thea both skipped town, and Laurel died. That leaves Oliver and Felicity as the lone vigilantes in Star City, but Green Arrow and Overwatch won’t be alone for long. It looks like some new heroes will round out the team.

Wild Dog — As previously reported, Jack Wheeler (Rick Gonzalez) will be very violent. The veteran and former college athlete is known for using machine guns, and Oliver (Stephen Amell) won’t like Wild Dog’s reckless nature. Still, the Green Arrow will take the new guy under his wing.

Vigilante — The aptly named hero seems a lot like the late Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). By day, Adrian Chase will be the new district attorney and a friend to Oliver as he handles his mayoral duties. Soon, Adrian will realize that following the law isn’t the most effective way to save Star City. In the comics, the murder of his family is what makes him turn away from the law, but it isn’t clear if the CW drama will take the same route. Deadline reports Josh Segarra will take the role.

Artemis — “Arrow” fans already met this archer in Season 4. Black Canary impersonator Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin) will return, Variety reports, but she’ll get her own identity in Season 5. The teenager will be reintroduced in episode 2 and appear on a recurring basis. In the comics, she replaces Speedy as the Green Arrow’s sidekick, but it’s hard to imagine anyone replacing Oliver’s sibling on the show. Still, it seems possible that Oliver will start seeing her as a little sister. After all, she’s the youngest vigilante around.

With all of these new heroes, it looks like Team Arrow won’t be a duo for long. Oliver won’t just be getting more help in the field, either. It looks like Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) will have a sidekick too. Curtis (Echo Kellum) was part of the team that saved Star City in the finale, and it seems unlikely that he’ll be able to stay away from fighting crime. Kellum was promoted to a series regular for Season 5.

“Arrow” Season 5 premieres on the CW on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. EDT.
