Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains an injury doubt for Arsenal ahead of their FA Cup final against Hull City on Saturday. The midfielder has been selected in England’s World Cup squad, yet has not played for Arsenal since the Premier League meeting with Hull almost a month ago after suffering a groin injury. And Wenger conceded that he may not return for Arsenal’s attempts to end their nine-year trophy drought at Wembley, while Thomas Vermaelen, who suffered a cut knee in training, is also a fitness concern.

“Everybody should be available who played in our last game at Norwich,” Wenger said, according to Arsenal’s official website. “There's still some uncertainty about Oxlade-Chamberlain (groin) and Vermaelen who was out at the last minute with stitches in his knee. We'll know more about that tomorrow or Friday.

“I will only know [on Thursday] if [Oxlade-Chamberlain] has a chance to be in the squad or not,” he added.

Even if fit, neither Oxlade-Chamberlain nor Vermaelen would likely get into the starting lineup. Arsenal have been boosted in recent weeks by the return of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil through injury. Ramsey, in particular, has made a big contribution to Arsenal finishing the Premier League season with five straight victories to secure fourth place and qualification for the Champions League. Sunday's 2-0 win at Norwich, in which Ramsey scored a spectacular volley, also saw returns from injury off the bench of Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby. Wilshere had been out for two months with a fractured bone in his left foot, while Diaby had been out for 15 months with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

“He works hard,” Wenger said of Wilshere. “We have a hard session today [Wednesday] again and he progresses. He played 30 minutes at Norwich, that was planned, he came out well. “

Lukasz Fabianski also played in the game at Norwich and will be hopeful of featuring at Wembley ahead of Wojciech Szczesny, having started and performed impressively in each round of the FA Cup thus far. Wenger has said that he has no qualms about playing both Fabianski and right-back Bacary Sagna, despite the fact that the pair looks set to leave the club this summer having failed to agree to new contracts.

“I told you many times for me a professional is to give your best until the last day of your contract,” he explained. “That's for me the real professional. I don't doubt their integrity, their desire to win and their commitment at all.”
