According to Arsene Wenger, Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has been ruled out for the FA Cup quarter-final match with Manchester United on Saturday.

Continuing to be be plagued by hamstring problems, the Spanish midfielder is expected to be out for two weeks.

The Gunners may need a desperation loan with Lucasz Fabianski out for the season, and Wojciech Szczesny out indefinitely. Manuel Almunia is now the starting goalkeeper, but doesn't have a true backup. Wenger may decide to give 18-year-old Argentine Damian Martinez a chance if the club doesn't decide to pursue outside options.

Alex Song and Theo Walcott remain inactive for Wenger's side.

On the bright side, Robin van Persie appears to have recovered from this knee injury and will suit up against the Red Devils in Saturday's contest.
