Manchester United proved they're the most dominant club in the Premier League, and Arsenal proved that there is a great deal of work to do before the transfer deadline, as the Red Devils gave the Gunners an epic thrashing at Old Trafford on Sunday, 8-2.

Wayne Rooney scored a hat trick, and Ashley Young scored twice, while Danny Welbeck, Nani and Ji-Sung Park each scored for Manchester United.

Wojciech Szczesny was terrorized by Manchester United as the club took 25 shots, with 14 on goal. Rooney even had a curling ball hit the post. Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson received a red card in the 77th minute with the score 6-2, as the next 13 minutes were just a way to pour it on the hapless Gunners.

After a convincing victory over Tottenham last week, the Red Devils proved that they are every bit a force this season as they were last year. Playing without Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, Sir Alex Ferguson's squad had no problems finding their forwards, as the attack earned each of the goals with their spectacular efforts.

David De Gea received a confidence boost in the match. The Spanish goalkeeper blocked a penalty kick by Robin van Persie in the first half that received a roar of approval from the Old Trafford faithful.

While Arsenal's defense struggled, but there were some bright spots for the club. Theo Walcott and van Persie scored for Arsenal, and the Gunners had a respectable 20 shots, with eight on goal.

Arsene Wenger was playing with a makeshift lineup without Gervinho, Nicklas Bendtner, Jack Wilshere, Thomas Vermaelen, Bacary Sagna, Abou Diaby, Emmanuel Frimpong, Kieran Gibbs, and Alex Song, along with the lack of quality replacements for Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Eboue, and Denilson.

Arsenal knew that the early part of the season included matches against Liverpool and Manchester United, but delays in adding a centre back, left back, defensive midfielder, and replacements for Nasri and Fabregas proved costly, as the club only has one point after three matches.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henri Lansbury and Francis Coquelin saw playing time for the Gunners.
