Speculation has increased in recent days that Arsenal are set to make a major push to land one of the stars of Euro 2012. Both ESPN and the Daily Mail suggest that boss Arsene Wenger is seriously considering an offer for Russia's Alan Dzagoev.

Drifting in from the right flank, Dzagoev, 21, has hit three goals in two games to sit joint top of the scoring charts at this stage of the competition.

The CSKA Moscow man's pedigree has been known for some time, having made his international debut as an 18 year old, but now he looks primed to fulfill that early potential this summer.

According to reports, Dzagoev would cost £13 million, despite the fact that it's alleged that he has just six months remaining on his contract. Funds that may in-part be raised by the offloading of Dzagoev's Russian teammate Andrey Arshavin.

Reports still suggest that Arsenal is set to complete a deal for French striker Olivier Giroud in the coming days. News that means that that speculation over the future of rumored Arsenal-target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is unlikely to carry any significance for the Gunners.

TalkSport carries quotes from Schalke general manager, Horst Heldt, that the Dutch frontman has a £17 million release-clause in his contract.

Huntelaar does have a €20 million buyout clause, and the rich club can afford it, Heldt told Bild.

But, Klaas Jan has always stressed that he wants to be a champion. This he can be only with Real or Barcelona in Spain.

I do not think he wants to go there. What would he do there? Since nothing more than the weather is better.

It appears, though, that Wenger has firmly set his sights on a similarly-styled striker in Giroud and looks set to get him for a full £5 million less than the clause in Huntelaar's deal.

Arsenal may still be targeting a younger and more affordable striker in addition to Giroud, though, if further reports from TalkSport are to be believed. The website claims that the Gunners are in prime position to make a move for Real Madrid's Joselu.

The 22 year old frontman has been scoring freely for Real Madrid Castilla, the club's B Team, in the past two seasons. But with little chance of progressing into the first-team at the Bernabeu, the Spain Under-21 international could be set for a move. Joselu scored in his one appearance for Jose Mourinho's side last season, as a substitute in a Cope del Rey tie against Ponferradina.

Wenger could also still be interested in bringing versatile attacker Salomon Kalou to the Emirates. Kalou is certain to be leaving Chelsea this summer, with his contract set to expire. While it had been thought that the 26 year old was heading to the Bundesliga with Schalke, the Mirror alleges that Arsenal could reignite their interest if they can ease the burden on their wage bill.

According to the Mirror's story, the individuals that Wenger would not be too disappointed to see the back of include Arshavin, Nicklas Bendtner, Carlos Vela, Sebastien Squillaci and Denilson.
