A teaser video uploaded on YouTube gives a glimpse of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with specifications that can give the upcoming iPad 2 the shivers.

The preview of the possible Galaxy Tab 2 showcases a display size of 7-inches with resolution on a binge offering 2048x1200 which offers stiff competition to the reported iPad 2 resolution of 2054x1536.

However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is reported to flaunt a 3D Display and will be powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. Also a recent report stated that Nvidia will be launching a new Tegra 2 3D processor clocking 1.2 GHz targeted at tablets and smartphones. However, the reports did not specify which devices will be running on the new 3D chip. Some reports suggested it would be the LG Slate. With the current report stating that Galaxy Tab 2 will come with 3D capacity it can certainly let the rumor mill chugging.

Reports suggest that iPad 2 will take on the Tegra 2 dual-core chip with its SoC the A5, a dual-core Cortex-A9 chip design. It is also reported that the iPad 2 processor will be employing the SGX543 graphics support. The current iPad uses SGX535 graphics support. This addition will bring 1080p video capability to iPad 2.

The Galaxy Tab 2 will run on Android 2.3 and will be upgradeable to Android 3.0 or Honeycomb. The reports also suggest that it will offer 1 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Reports surmising that iPad 2 will boost its resolution to Retina Display would, however, warrant higher RAM and Apple could bump-up the RAM capacity in the iPad 2.

Also the reports state that the Galaxy Tab 2 will sport an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 3 MP front-facing camera. In this department the iPad 2 could fall short as 9to5 Mac reported that the iPad 2 will have a 1MP rear camera and 0.3 MP VGA front-facing cameras.

Also it is reported that Galaxy Tab 2 will feature an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and barometer. However, iPad 2 will also come loaded with an accelerometer, gyroscope and proximity.

If the teaser video forecast comes true then Samsung Galaxy Pad 2 could surely be a strong competitor not just against iPad 2 but can also take on Motorola Xoom and RIM's PlayBook which also comes in a 7-inch form factor. The report comes just prior to the Mobile World Congress where Nvidia is also due to showcase its Tegra 2 3D chip.
