Obama to meet with tech company CEOs on Tuesday

February 1, 2011 12:32 AM EST

President Barack Obama will meet with a group of technology company chief executives on Tuesday as part of his effort to mend ties with the business community and find ways to create jobs.

Members of the Technology CEO Council were invited to the White House "to discuss competitiveness, education, innovation, and the need for strategic investments to create jobs, grow the economy and win the future," the White House said.

The White House did not immediately release a list of the CEOs expected to attend.

Obama, a Democrat, has taken a more business-friendly approach aimed at moving to the political center, considered key to his 2010 re-election chances.

In his annual State of the Union address last week, Obama outlined a mix of government action and private initiatives aimed at encouraging American innovation and boosting jobs.
